Minority Aviation Education Association Inc.
(MAEA) was founded in 1992 by Darryl Lee Baynes to address the
under-representation of minorities and women in aviation and its related
fields. The scope was widened to encompass
all science, math and related technologies for the same reason of
under-representation. The name
Interactive Science Programs (ISP) was registered to be more descriptive of our
work. ISP is a non-profit 501(C) 3
organization dedicated to introducing minorities and women to science, technology,
engineering and math (STEM) fields.
ISP is
the preeminent science and math Outreach Company and the largest owned and
operated by minorities in the country. Since
our beginnings in 1992, ISP has provided programs for more than a quarter of a
million students, teachers and parents. ISP’s
outreach programs have grown over the years.
It is now headquartered in Wheeling, WV and satellite offices in Philadelphia,
PA, Detroit, MI, and Columbus,
OH
